"Job" thinking = limited-value thinking
There is a fixed number of jobs in the world. I don't the exact number, but I know it's fixed.
However, there are unlimited needs in the world. Human beings have all kinds of needs, and they keep growing in quantity and in sophistication.
While people in developing countries have physical needs, people in developed countries have needs that are increasingly psychological or spiritual -- in short, we have needs that are intangible and must be fulfilled with intangible products.
In the West, we have material abundance. However, we suffer from spiritual scarcity. And you simply cannot find spiritual riches via Google (no matter how smart these guys are!).
I guess the success secret is that as long as we think about "jobs", then we cannot fully benefit from the vast new array of tools (information and communications technologies) to fulfill people's intangible needs. Hence, we cannot enrich ourselves economically.
To put it more bluntly, if you're a typical employee, you will only look for "jobs" because that is the only place where you see value (in the form of a regular paycheck). However, the REAL (potentially infinite) value comes from fulfilling people's infinite intangible needs.
A good example is Dr Phil's new website, www.match.com
The bottom line is that the industrial revolution has conditioned us to think uniquely in terms of "jobs." This job-centric view of the world blinds most people to the REAL economic opportunities out there of creating value that can enrich them.
Conclusions:

Conclusions:
- Jobs are limited. Think of jobs and your earnings will be limited (usually to your yearly salary).
- Human needs are unlimited. Think about people's needs and how to serve them, and there is no limit to how much money you can make.
